Overview of Engineering Technology Pathway
CTE Pathways are programs of study aligned around a CTE Industry Sector Theme that prepare students for College and Career. The Engineering Technology Pathway consists of three consecutive courses that end in a capstone project, industry certification, internship, and/or college articulation.
- Engineering Technology I introduces students to robotics, electronics, coding, CAD, 3D printing, CNC, and laser engraving, then students apply these Engineering Technologies in a real-world Project-Based Learning Environment modeled after the Maker Space movement.
- Engineering Technology II uses a deeper-learning focus in order to apply these same technologies to more authentic real-world projects using a Project-Based Learning approach that includes design-thinking.
